My husband Randy suffered a stroke 11 years ago. He has severe Aphasia with apraxia making communication and especially speech very very challenging. We were informed and then able to enroll in the excellent Speech therapy program at PSU where Cassie Quinn was one of our primary professors in SLP.

Randy received great guidance through Cassie and worked with the grad students in her Speech Pathology department. Randy’s treatment allowed both him and myself to learn techniques so we could communicate better and even talk at a limited level. Cassie was so instrumental in Randy’s recovery. Also, since Covid, we have relied more and more on virtual learning. Telepractice allows speech therapy at home without the complications of traveling long distances.

I’m so glad to learn that Cassie will be utilizing her vast knowledge to continue to help aphasia patients achieve better language skills . Telepractice is such a wonderful tool.

Telepractice has really been a perfect option for my son...

Telepractice has really been a perfect option for my son. He’s in high school and has a very busy schedule, but has been asking for some additional support for his speech this year. Doing stuttering therapy as an adult online through telepractice has been a game changer. It’s super convenient to have therapy sessions from home, so I don’t have to worry about fitting it into my schedule or driving to a clinic. My therapist – Dr. McGill – has been awesome. She really knows her stuff and has been great at making my treatment plan and activities fit what I need and want to work on.
